Guide to U.S. Immigration

24. Strategies

In the past, foreign based companies could fill their employment needs with E visas alone. Therefore most Japanese aliens had E visas. Since many foreign based companies have relied on this visa in the past, some of them resisted the use of other types of visas.

However, since it is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain the desired number of E visa staff, the strategy should be reconsidered. In the future, the wise managers will use all the visa categories available to fill their personnel needs in the U.S. Therefore, in the future, it will not be uncommon for companies to have a mixture of E, H and L visas on their U.S. company staff. Also, some E, H, or L alien employees might apply for and obtain permanent residence. This is clearly the trend and those companies that resist this trend may encounter difficulties in completing their local staff.
