15. Revalidation

An alien used to be able to revalidate his visa with the Department of State in the U.S.  It was a procedure done by mail and was very convenient.  Because of security reasons, the Department of State issued an announcement that it would not longer revalidate visas in the U.S. and that an alien must revalidate his or her visa at a U.S. consulate abroad.
